We are committed to our craft. And our craft is watching the Valkyries play the Sparks! We traveled down to LA this week to watch the Valks' (still unsure about this nickname) first road game (and road win). Third time's a charm, as they say.
This game was won in the second quarter, when the Sparks could not find a way to put the ball through the hoop, and the Valkyries outscored the Sparks 25 to 9. Burton is becoming a steady hand at point guard. Leite is a ball of energy on offense and defense. And Kate Martin started to heat up from three point land. Now that the Valks have played the Sparks three times in two weeks, it will be interesting to watch them match up against other teams, and yes, they will finally have to play some new competition.
It was our first time attending a sporting event at Crypto.com Arena, and it felt massive compared to Chase Center. Just under 11,000 fans were in attendance, and as a result, it did not have the same energy Ballhalla. Kevin Durant was sitting courtside though, and he was fun to keep tabs on. No surprise, it looked like (from a distance) he was totally locked into the game.
Go Valkyries!
