W 74-57

Our first look at Violet!

Yes, the Golden State Valkyries defeated the Connecticut Sun. Yes, the team looked great on the court. We were moving the ball, and our defense was solid, and our offense was making shots. Yes, it was fun to see Aaliyah Edwards, and we think she has a bright future in this league. Yes, every W in Ballhalla is great.

But that’s not what we’re talking about today. That’s not why August 11 will go down in Valkyries history. Everyone will remember August 11, but nobody will remember this perfectly fine ga

me against the Connecticut Sun.

We will remember August 11 because it was the day the Valkyries introduced us to Violet. Our long-awaited mascot! Let’s break this down:

  • Violet is a falcon. We learned that falcons are the best friends of Valkyries in Nordic

    tradition. How dope!

  • Violet is fun and friendly and can do cartwheels. Heck yes.

  • Violet is not great at shooting layups. But she did finally hit one! All this means is that we have a lot of skill development to look forward to!

  • Ballhalla loves Violet! No surprise. The fans were excited, and the energy was great

We could not be more excited to meet Violet. She is awesome. And we have every confidence that getting to know her is going to be even more awesome.
